The Third Step to Self Improvement

This is the "dopamine free" version of the YouTube video called "The #1 habit stealing your time."
- Turn on the grayscale color filter
- Delete all of your non-tool apps. This includes youtube, social media, and games. A tool app would be the notes app or the calculator, which are purely tools.
- Delete all of your social media accounts altogether.
- Remove all apps from your home screen. Your home screen should be empty, so you must manually search for certain apps without distraction. This requires you to have a purpose whenever using your phone.
- Remove the suggested apps in the search bar when you swipe down to search.
- Turn off all notifications on your phone and keep your phone on do not disturb mode indefinitely.
- Make it so you have to click the power button to turn it on instead of it turning on automatically when you pick it up.
- Keep the phone in airplane mode and always power it off when not using it. Power off means going through the process of holding down the power button for a few seconds and sliding the shut-off button, do this every time.
- Keep the phone in the basement or somewhere far away from where you are most of the time.
- Break the habit of bringing your phone everywhere with you. You can do things on your own.
- Keep your phone out of your pocket if you need to bring it. Try and get someone else to hold it or put it in a bag. Remember to keep it powered off and on airplane mode.
- Eventually, get to the point where you only use your phone when you have a purpose.
- Keep making more changes as you learn more, but I have found from experience that these changes have the most significant impact.
