Practice #31 - Declutter Your Phone

The player is loading ...

Your phone is a tool, so treat it as such. Many things to do to your phone are as follows:
- Turn on the grayscale color filter
- This makes using the phone less appealing to the eye and more of a mundane task.
- Delete all of your non-tool apps. This includes youtube, social media, and games. A tool app would be the notes app or the calculator, which are purely tools.
- I recommend deleting all of your social media accounts altogether as well.
- Remove all apps from your home screen. Your home screen should be empty, so you must manually search for certain apps without distraction. This requires you to have a purpose whenever using your phone.
- Remove the suggested apps in the search bar when you swipe down to search.
- Turn off all notifications on your phone and keep your phone on do not disturb mode indefinitely.
- Keep the phone in airplane mode and always power it off when not using it. Power off means going through the process of holding down the power button for a few seconds and sliding the shut-off button, do this every time. Also, keep the phone in the basement or somewhere far away from where you are most of the time.
- This will make it a chore to use your phone, encouraging you to stay off of it. Also, keeping it in a different room will help keep it out of your mind, preventing you from thinking about it.
- Avoid bringing it with you anywhere if you do not have to. I find that 99% of the time I don't even need my phone. If I do, I could use someone else’s phone. I memorize essential phone numbers if I need them.
- Also, keep your phone out of your pocket if you need to bring it. Try and get someone else to hold it or put it in a bag. There are many reasons for this, but for these purposes, it creates another step to use it. If you're interested in other reasons, research how your phone's electromagnetic frequencies scramble your balls and drop your testosterone levels. Remember to keep it powered off and on airplane mode.
